About Us
Hello, I'm Lisa Moeller, CEO and founder of our small company, which is based in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. I'm a busy medical professional, mother of two small children, with a background as an artist, ceramics designer and gardener. Every working mother knows my story.
Mailboxes Elite grew like my lupines when I took a critical look at the front of our home. I'd gone to so much trouble with the color, design and landscaping, but an ugly mailbox spoiled it all.
 I wondered why I couldn't find a better focal point for my house than that, so I started looking. No luck. The choices were cheap, painted sheet metal or bloated, plastic blimps. I knew there had to be something better, something unique, of quality, something I'd actually LIKE to see out front. Nature gave me the answer.
I went to my drawing board and sketched a heron I'd watched that day in local wetlands. Then I enlisted the help of a metal fabrication ship to turn that beautiful wading bird's image into a stainless steel mailbox that makes visitors look twice - and then some more! You can guess the rest of my story; friends wanted a heron mailbox for themselves and another one for their parents. I even started doing other designs. I enlisted a small group of professionals to help with manufacturing, marketing and a web site. Almost before I knew it, we had a thriving business and my heron took flight.
I still touch my mailbox, for luck every time I go into my home. It's a beautiful bird that looks so good in its new place and I just love it.
